My manuscript for the first of a new romance series is almost complete. I haven't worked on it in 62 days. This irks me. My very limited writing time usually happens after the kids are asleep, usually late at night because my children are night-owls. Or noc-turtle, as my little girl used to pronounce nocturnal.
It's not for lack of trying that I do not write. November and December were busy months for me and my family.
In November, our fourteen year old cat, who is temperamental and moody on her best days, began refusing food. All food. She shunned her beloved Fancy Feast. She turned her nose up at the expensive food we bought at the vet's office. We were certain the end was near for her.
Around the same time, toddler boy got a respiratory virus. The next week, an upper respiratory infection for me. Same week, a close friend lost her baby and we were all heartbroken. A week after that, the boy was sick again.
Then Thanksgiving.
Bring on December. Monday after Thanksgiving, we were at the E.R. with the toddler boy again - Flu. The following week, I have the flu. Nevermind the flu shots we all got in October. Bah! Third week of December, first-grader daughter starts running a fever, sore throat.
Then Christmas.
2014 - good health and fingers crossed for productivity for all!

Finally...The Long Road to A Book
It took a while, but I finally completed my first novel! (Yay, me!)
It feels incredible, just to have finished it. Will others enjoy reading it? I hope so!
I self-published on Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing platform, check it out!
